Red Cliff Part 1

Went to meet up with Bai Lun to watch the movie and I was quite late.

I had laksa for dinner and did not know the roasted meat store at Marsiling has a branch just opposite SLS. And we went lookin for jeans before the movie.

The movie was pretty good. Good characters and Zhang Fei, Guan Yu and Liu Bei was quite funny. Guan Yu was really powerful. Zi Long too. Liu Bei was kinda old and too nice.

Quite a lot of lame jokes lol. But the action was really good and the battles tactics that Zhu Ge Liang use is from the books. Zhou Yu is pretty brilliant tactician himself. How they play music to each other and understand what they must do. Zhu Ge liang is pretty good at talking to Sun Quan. haha.

Lots of interesting supporting characters like Sun Shang Xiang.

Cao Cao is pretty evil.

The special effects of the armada was cool.

The part of the Ba Gua formation was really great. But pretty bloody too..

Did not know the movie was in two parts and was thinking why the movie was so slow and how long has it been and why no red cliff battle yet? lol

And they play ancient soccer lol.

Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian

The Deeper Magic of Narnia.

The Pevensie children return to Narnia. The kings and queens of old return when the horn sounds.

But Mr. Tumnus and Mr. and Mrs. Beavers are no more.

The movie was not bad but I like the first one more. This one is darker and also the enemy is less magical. I was more afraid of the White Witch.

Aslan always saves the day and its sad to know that Susan and Peter will not return to Narnia.

And I love the movie so much becoz I guess a part of me wants to go on that adventure and when I watch the movie I go to Narnia but when it ends, I am back to reality and I dont wanna go.

The scene with the White Witch, Jadis was cool. The actor just has this aura of dark magic about her.

It was all about believing. Lucy was the one who believed and she has always been the star.

The mouse was damn cute. LOL

Watched it at Prince at Shaw Towers and the theatre was so empty and I was the last to leave.

Watched Lost and Desmond was going back and fro in time and going crazy.

And saw my aunt and cousin kaien when going to Shaw towers to watch the movie.

Speed Racer

The movie was crazy great.

Met up with Kenneth Zheng, Xinyan, Sean John, Chris Ng and Matthew at Ps to watch the movie. Me, Kenneth and Xinyan were there first and ate lunch. I ordered the beer batter fish and chips with mayo and ketchup. Yummy.

Then Sean came and I went Daiso to buy a drink and realised I did not have enough money. Had to borrow $2 from Xinyan.

Then Chris and John came just right on time and we were going to the theatre and the stupid idiot at the entrance say I cant bring my fish and chips in and I just say "take it lor" and then we went to the wrong theatre lol.

Anyway the movie felt quite long. The visual style is stunning and lots of flashbacks and hell lots of races and explosions and cars jumping and explosions.

The main actor was a little stiff. the show is really entertaining and comical. The fights are damn funny.

The plot is pretty standard but then the effects are just out of this world. The final race and the part he was gonna reach the end was just plain mad crazy with all the effects flying in your faces. Damn intense with all the crashed and him flying past everyone and the camera flashes and his wheels melting. lol

And the part when the brother die and the family broke down and the ending part when Rex Racer say he has to live with the mistake of not telling his family that he is still alive is rather sad.

After the movie most of them went home, I went with chris to shop for his mother's day present. Walk to cuppage plaza there and the shopping centre there and found a bag for his mother. And asked him about the Istana change of guards ceremony and then he had to go home and I walked to Cathay and then to Bugis and ate wanton there and then walked home.

Went to watch it myself at Bugis Junction. Shaw Tower recently not showing movie. Went there and a new section of the basement was open with even more food stores. Tried some wanton in spicy sauce. Then still got two hours till the movie start and so walk around Bugis. The electronics shop on top floor being renovated. Then saw a blue Lamborghini on the road. The junction at the KFC there. the noise...

Then went to watch the movie and some idiot at the projector forgot to change his lens... and the aspect ratio was fucked up and the film got cropped off on top and bottom and was only like after 2-3 mins that he guy realised and change the lens and cause the screen to black out for a few seconds. DAMN PISSED OFF.

Anyway the movie was pretty good. Not the thought provoking kind or damn twisting plot. But really entertaining and fun to watch. Full of action. LOL the robot arms can understand him. and the part when Peppers take out the arc reactor in his chest and put in the new one was damn funny. Cool effects and the suit is nice and nice seeing iron man blow up the bad guys with all that action.

Lol the part of war machine and "Maybe next time" was a interesting hint.

And I was already suspecting something everytime the agent guy appears with that long nonsense name. S.H.I.E.L.D

First time he came back was a cheese burger lol. The anti-icing part was funny lol. FSII!!! And the part he was evading the F-22. Flares!! and then he got a call from the colonel guy in the air. lol.

I kinda predicted how he was gonna defeat the bad guy when he insist to fly up high despite his old reactor having less power.

Overall it was not bad. Lots of teasers and to all those people who did not stay after the credits to watch the secret ending. Idiots! Nick Fury and the Avengers!!! muhahaha

Forbidden Kingdom

Went to watch the movie with Kenneth Zheng and Xinyan. We met at Plaza Singapura and all of us were late lol. They were at Gelare eating waffles with ice cream. Then went to Carrefour to buy some snacks and I bought some bread from breadtalk and they bought two huge bottles of water and then we just went into the theatre on time and watched the trailers for ironman and speed racer.

Then the movie was not bad. Jackie Chan came first. And its based on chinese legend but with a twist so its kinda funny to chinese audience I guess since we already know the legend of the Monkey King. The part that Jackie Chan suddenly speak english damn funny.

The fights were good. Not so fake with too many special effects. Some of the characters speak english damn weird and I think some meanings got twisted when they explain the Chinese legends in English. Golden Sparrow kinda funny English but she is pretty. Lots of those low-mo close up, "hair flying in the wind" shots of her face. I guess they using some old stereotypes of Chinese from Western view. Lol but the old man from the shop talk really funny. "You are the man" lol. And some characters use really broken english. But of the parts were damn serious and some of the parts of the monkey king was quite funny. Kinda like fairy tale lol Dreamy. And Jet Li got scary expressions.

Lol the monks and the kid monk was funny and Jackie Chan say "Gan bei" and Jet Li say "Cheers" when drinking.

Overall it was a fun movie. Cool Kungfu. Action flick, funny and good entertainment. The plot is not those deep twisting deep thinking kind. The meat of the show is the fighting anyway. The plot was secondary. The message was to fight for the right reasons and stand up for yourself

Only realised Jackie Chan was the old man at the old chinese kungfu movie store and Jet Li was monkey king at the end.

Just watched it again on TV and all the "Kira" say they kill evil people in the name of justice. How come they dun put someone who just kill for the sake of it in the movie. Some damn evil guy without conscience. Then there can be a contrast.

Are they deluding themselves? Evil must be fought with evil? Is the justice all just a excuse?

All of them have their reasons and vengence and that they are sick of the society and law and the system unable to do anything. Despair... they truly think they are doing the right thing. Power corrupts.

Sometimes the best intention and "for the greater good" and "sacrifices must be made" is a good excuse for lots of things. What will be the price?

Is peace that is won thru war and suffering worth it?

We are the Akuma. What would you do if you had the power of a death note?

I Am Legend

The movie is adapted from a novel so the character development, plot is good and well thought out. The story was mainly on how he survives. How he is all alone and go buy his DVD and watches them. A bit crazy when he is talking to mannequins and his dog. Has to check the daylight time and get back home in time and pours something at the stairs. Cool fast car and pumping gas. Lots of guns and hunting deer. And the way he carries out his experiments in the lab and records it down. Playing golf on the Blackbird on the carrier.

Not so action. More horror bits. Gets scary. Has the zombie/vampire idea but its not like resident evil. The dog is cute. But the part it died was heartbreaking.

Feels kinda sad the ending.

Watched it with Zhong Xuan on Christmas Eve at Shaw Towers. He had to sponsor me.

The Golden Compass

Watched The Golden Compass with Zhong Xuan and it was not bad but not exciting either, Kinda one of those first movie in the trilogy sets up the scene. The movie was quite slow moving and kinda puzzling. Some parts went over pretty fast. Felt that they cut out some parts.. The story was a kinda jumpy.

But the fights were really good. The ice bears fight was brutal and scary and the final fight at the end was pretty messy but pretty good. Just hope the daemons could be more useful.

The girl is really clever and very un-lady-like and the Lord Asriel is really her father? Some of the characters like the witch and air balloon man is good.

Is the movie teaching us to defy authority and have a mind of your own and seek out the truth?

The polar bear just appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the fight.

Ate Cheese fries before the show and think I saw a RI junior who walks with a limp.

The Rookie

Just happen to turn on the TV and it looks quite nice but I just sat down and watched it since my com was all screwed up... Waiting damn long to recover files on the xD card and it failed. And then my DVD drive refuses to burn again.

BTW the movie was about this guy called Jim Morris who could not fulfil his dream of playing baseball when he was a kid because of his family and then he grew up and became a teacher and the coach of the school baseball team and one day he wanted to encourage his team to fight for their dream and they wanted him to also try again for his dream if they won. So they won in the end, and he had to go for a tryout. And eventually he joined a baseball team and got to a Major league despite some initial objection from his wife and his family not been able to pay the bills.

The final part of him giving the ball to his father and his whole town coming to celebrate his first game and in his hometown was nice.

Sometimes sacrifices are needed to make dream come true and its never to late to start or try again. Sometimes we lose our childhood dreams but its great to be able to finds them back again.

All the memories and unfulfilled wishes.... Sigh......

I wonder what that legend about the two nuns was about.

Touching nice and slow movie. Not too much drama and feels real. Its based on a true story and the soundtrack was very southern and slow and nice and relaxing.

Silent Hill

The movie was kinda slow but faithful to the game. Some parts were scary but I guess it was more gory...

The ending was kinda like a game lol. Solving the puzzles. Having torches and day changing into the nightmarish dark night. And some monsters from the game. But I think non-fans of the game will kinda get confused.

The evil of religion and how the hate and fears of a little girl can bring much great evil.

The ending was not very good. I mind of a young child can be twisted by the actions of their parents and adults....

Heard there will be a sequel. Hope the ending will be less sad.

One Month Since ORD - Resident Evil Extinction

Yesterday early afternoon rained very heavily. Then 4pm went Bugis to meet Weicong about insurance stuff.

Then went to Shaw to watch Resident Evil 3 Extinction with Zhong Xuan. The movie started with what looks like scenes from the first two movies and got me a little confused at first. And this sequel keep trying to scare the shit out of us... The stupid dark room and sudden loud sounds... Keep expecting to get scared... Alice certainly had some really cool powers. So she is finally gonna go after the Umbrella Corp in the next movie with all her clones? Cool. IT was certainly entertaining. And the ending was wide open. Look forward to Tokyo in the next one? Or Alaska? Kinda wonder what happen to the other characters in the second movie. The white queen is interesting. Zombie Crows....

After the movie, went to Miss Clarity Cafe with Zhong Xuan for dinner. Had some soft shell crab pasta for about $10. Not bad but prefer it to be more salty. And Zhong Xuan's Tom Yam Pasta was quite nice. The potato skins with cheese and ham was very nice. Love the mayo to go with it. hehe.

And then walk round Bugis and House of the Dead uncle was there at the arcade as usual.

Then walk back towards my home with ZX. Showed him all the supper places near my house. Then he went home.

One Month since ORD liao still rotting at home like a zombie...

The Simpsons Movie

Went to Vivocity to watch it with Beow and Chris and both of them were late... Was raining quite heavily when I reach there. Was about an hour earlier than the two of them and so I walked around. They made me so pissed off I keep shouting bad words in front of other people.... Canon shop was quite quiet.

Ate lunch at the Food Republic Food Court and the Laksa was expensive. LOL twice as much as other places.

Then went for the movie at about 2pm and there were lots of kids in the theater. Chris and Beow actually wanted to watch Bourne at first and Chris thinks 2D cartoons should be downloaded....

BTW took quite a while for the movie to start and the first part of "Homer saying that everyone in the theater watching this movie when we can get it for free on TV is stupid esp you" was good lol.

The rest of the movie was filled with funny shit. Some were a little adult. haha good boobies lady and the Disney spoof of Bambi and birds taking off their clothes. lol and Bart skating naked along the street.

Chris was laughing damn hard at the spider pig part. That song is damn lame.

The credits was quite interesting with all the voice actors and how many character they act as. Haha and sequel???

After movie, walked round the supermarket. Took some pictures at the roof top but the sky was not cloudy and not nice. Beow went off first and Chris and I walked a bit more. Went to the organic food section and Chris say he see how much food that he wanna buy some and cook. Then we walked around Harhourfront and he said about going on a cruise.

Then went to the hawker centre across and ate some food. He told me that he know the Aston guy and he used to work for his father. Chris went home first while I walked around a bit more and then took mrt but overshot and ended up at Clarke Quay. Had a stomachache and went to the loo and then looked around at the food there and then took a bus home.

Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix

He's older now and life still sucks for him. The movie started on a rather dark note. Harry and his cousin being attacked by Dementors and the Ministry wants to put him on trial.

Harry is being called a liar by everyone about the incident of the previous movie, of his competitor being killed. Dumblebore is also being suspected by the minister of Magic. Harry feels all isolated and angry that no one believes him and he starts to detach from his friends but in the end they help bring him in. But it feels like in the one, he is growing up and becoming stronger and darker but that could have been under the influence of Voldemort's link with him.

The movie just gets darker and more underground from then on. And the soundtrack sounded bad to me. But it feels like there were large parts missing from the book

The part of Umbridge being such an ass in Hogwarts is damn irritating. That stupid pen of hers...

Basically the film gave me a very mixed feeling. Its not like the first few when there was always some mystery and fun moments. This film is kinda dark and has less of the magic and funny moments. Unless the first few when Voldemort is trying to come back, this time he is alive for sure and they are no more mysteries. Everyone is in fear and disbelief of this fact and the story is mainly on getting people to realise this.

The fight at the end was really good though but could have been more action packed and Dumbledore has got style lol.

We find more about about the past, the first war they had and how the Order came about, about Snape's past, the past of the Harry's parents and the other members of the Order and how they intertwine with Voldemort. Wish there was more development of the kids in the Dumbledore's army, like Neville, the twins and Luna. Harry is becoming a very powerful wizard, teacher and leader.

Feels like there were quite a lot of holes in the story and things went on pretty fast. I needed to read up on the story book to understand what happened and appreciate the film more.

Watched the movie with Beow and John and as Beow said now that "You Know Who " is back. It's just war, no more mysteries and guessing. I thought the plot was rather unsurprising to me unlike the previous ones. Though I was not expecting Sirius Black to die. In the end, Harry was able to resist the Dark Lord and the wizarding world realises the truth.

Well I guess this is the beginning of the end for the series and the war is gonna start soon.

After the movie, had dinner with Beow at MOS. Saw Sunny with some of our platoon people. Met them at the pool junction place.

Live Free or Die Hard 4.0

Is the DVD gonna be called Die Hard 4.5? lol

Pretty good action flick although I am not really a fan of the series. ZX kinda drag me to go watch it... Damn late at night. Played Harry Potter on the Xbox360 at Lido.

Hes really lucky and crazy. The F-35 cant hover and move around... Its only for take off and landing.

The action was pretty crazy and hacking can be so easy?

I knew he was gonna shoot himself at the last part. the bad guy was damn stupid.

The hacker guy is the guy acting as the Mac in the Apple Ads.

Transformers The Movie

Watched after midnight with Zhong Xuan and Darius at Shaw Towers. Eric was supposed to watch with us at first but he backed out and we asked Darius.

The show was good The plot was not very good but the action and CG was damn good. I had so much fun watching it. It had quite a lot of funny parts. LOL the black guy and his granny's middle finger. There was lots of erm R21 jokes? lol and bumblebee use the radio to talk lol. The stupid Indian call centre lol when they fighting in the desert.

Haha and they part when the girl was Bumblebee was lousy and he turn into a new Camaro lol.

All of them can talk in English and have accents lol they learn from the World Wide Web. It's really funny to see their personality show thru in the scene of the guy looking for the glasses at home. Haha they are more than meets the eye.

The animation of the transformations were really cool. the fights were crazy messy and lots of explosions and chaos and people screaming and things flying around and blowing up.

The C130 gunship, F-22 and the cars were cool. And some transforming sounds from the original cartoon. Could have been better if the transformations and fights were slower so we can see the mechanics and their weapons. I mean its why geeks like transformers! Its the transformations and how they work.

Some scenes were really cool. Esp when the other Autobots arrive on Earth and choose their form. The soundtrack was not bad and there were quite a few lines that came from the first animated movie and the cartoon series.

The bad guy died rather suddenly. Starscream flew into space and the Autobots are living on Earth. Sequel coming?

Was watching Black Hawk Down on AXN before going out for this movie. After the movie, we went and had dim sum.

Was homer at 4am and overslept and went to go guard late. Was a Saturday but the sqn was back to clean up 1-8 for CDF visit.... EO was in a bad mood and Tan KL from 27th was my other guard. Had to teach Encik Ong how to use the computer.

Fantastic 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer

And NO you don't need to watch Fantastic 1, 2, and 3 to watch this....

The movie was not bad. Was supposed to be a 144 and 149 25th batch outing but becoz of some Saturday cleaning up at some PDS and some people on guard and AM OS, Only one guy from 144 which was me went... Watched with Roger, Jason (He did AM OS with Chen JX and Eric), Chris Liao and Yong Da.

The effects were good and there were many funny moments. You see the usual family problems in the plot and Johnny, the human torch is seeking some true love and The Thing is happy with his blind girlfriend. Sue Storm and Richard Reeds are trying damn hard to finally get married. And Sue is getting sick of the limelight.

Dr. Doom is back this time and as usual he's up to something.

The Silver Surfer is really cool and in the end, he's not dead. This will be interesting. Wonder what will happen in the next one....

After the movie, we went to see Darius at Suntec for his parade thing and just happen that Roger's friend from BMT cougar was there.

Then they went Bugis to look for their 28th batch junior playing pool. Along the way there, we met some 149 regular guys.

They went home and I walked around Bugis and saw Warren with his girlfriend.

And was gonna take MRT home and saw Alan Ngoh from 28th waiting for his batch mates. I wanted to go home to watch Condor Heroes.

Pirates Of the Caribbean: At World's End

Watched the movie with ZX even though I was still having a flu and had to work early... becoz he bought some tickets online but had two extras.... So I took one but there was still a empty seat next to me.. Wasted....

The movie was not bad. Entertaining. Captain John is still funny as hell as ever. And the monkey.

As usual the plot was all about them plotting against each other advancing their own agenda. LOL all the pirate lords voting for themselves. All the intertwining plans lol.

The final fight was good. Chow Yun Fatt had a rather small part. Kinda wasted.

As usual lots of plot holes and ridiculous parts lol like rocking the ship. The pirate speak was hard to understand. The part the guy broke of his toe was yucks.

In the end, William Turner had to become the new captain of the Flying Dutchman. 10 years at sea and a day at shore...

Missed the part after the credits, ZX said there was no more and I believed him since he was such a fan. Should have believed what I heard... Anyway I was too tired and everyone was walking out.

I wonder if There will be a fourth one. As I said this movie closes the current chapter and opens a new one.

Had dinner with ZX at Parkway Parade, Siam Kitchen. Had their buffet thing and it was not bad but VERY filling and spicy. Stomach felt damn bloated and weird. Shit lots of times after that...

Spiderman 3

Walked to Bugis in the rain and then met up with Beow for some of his usual weekend shopping and had lunch at the food court.

And then we watched Spiderman 3. It was not bad. Considering they had so many characters and villains. The show started with small snippets of the first and second one. Lots of music from the first two too. Kinda to remind us of the story so far.

The fights were pretty good. The relationships of Harry, Mary Jane and Peter Parker was quite good. How Venom came to Earth was kinda lame. I thought how the relationship developed in this one was quite good but some people prefer the action. Haha quite funny to see Peter Parker dancing.

Sandman was kinda small parts but his story was sad. I think he was there to bring the revenge factor for Spiderman. The death of his uncle in the first one. And Harry seeking revenge for his father and Venom seeking revenge for his humiliation.

There is no main villain in this one. The main enemy is Peter Parker himself and the choice he has to make between good and evil.

Quite interesting to see the villains and heroes team up.

At the same time, kinda disappointed that they killed off Venom. Hoped they would leave it hanging for the next one. Lots of fans are angry at the director because of this. Supposedly the director hated the Venom character so he gave it a quick death. I thought the effects and fight for it were good and the character could have been developed as a archnemisis of Spiderman and is quite useful for the future concerning the fanbase....

I wonder if they will have Carnage? It would be a pity to waste all the work done by Venom.

After the movie, I went to Sim Lim Square. Walked around. The ZX came to have dinner. Pastamania.

Thicker than Blood

Yesterday was supposed to be at 1-8 doing OS but in the end, got pulled out to do out of phase with JJ and Staff Koh. BB was helping us. Went home on Cpt Siah Y car. He drove me quite near to my home. Told me some things while at Geylang Road.

BTW watched a movie on TV called "Thicker than Blood" based on some play called Stand-up Tragedy.

"Full of stereotypes of a poor crime-laden neighborhood school but a good teacher comes along and changes things " story.

But then its not ideal just like that and even the teacher has problems. In the end, the ending is sad. Is anyone saved? What's family? Just like real life, there is no definitive answer. Mixed feelings with no real end to the questions.

Better quote from one of the reviews of the show : " You'll come away with mixed feelings and no single powerful message, but that's kind of the way the real world is. "

Fully animated and its ok la.

Fights are kinda messy. The plot gives damn fast and I realised suddenly the girl sounded like Zhang Ziyi...

The thing is I watched it with a big bunch of friends. Chong Yi, Bao Lun, Roger, Yong da, Eric, Jia Xiang, Sunny, Zhong Xuan, Eric and Darius.

Was a mistake to have chocolate Fondue... My throat hurts like shit....

De Fei only joined us for dinner and we saw Warren when we coming out of the theater. Its a small world.

Watched the movie with Chong Yi, Ding Yuan, Bao Lun, Tan GK and John. Warned them that the movie is bloody and all of them never watch Sin City...

BTW the movie had more heads flying and blood spilling than I expected. It was very visually stunning, lots of slow motion sequence of the fights and the director and actors really captured the moments very well. All the back drops and the narration of their story.

The action was great and the character of King Leonidas was very well portrayed. Also that lots of Greek legends, mysticism, traditions, culture was captured in the movie.

How the Spartans train their children to fight and kill at the age of 7 and the status of women in their society and their rivalry with the Athenians. And that they believed their king are descendants of Heracles. The consultation of the Oracle. Haha the tits...

Thought some parts are a little crazy, like the giant, executor and the scary women serving the hunchback.

The queen who supports the king. She would do anything. Women are not lowly in spartan society.

The hunchback who wants to be a Spartan but becomes a traitor althought he regrets it.

Xerxes was really portrayed well as the arrogant king who thinks hes a god. That hes kind and all he wants is submission.

The action was really good. Long exciting fights and the tactics they employed. The phalanx and their shields, spears and swords.

As for the real history King Leonidas led 300 Spartans and 700 Thespian at the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC

The final scene should be the Battle of Plataea where the Persians were defeated.

It was really as if the incredible tale of how 300 Spartans fought against a army of a million Persians had been witnessed with my own eyes.

Met up with Bao Lun and Chong Yi after PSF. Had to call Bao Lun at SQCP since I forgot to bring my handphone... GK also watch with us.

Took 90 to Toa Payoh since weekdn no 94 bus.

The plot is even more twisted than the first one.

Light is a devil in disguise that even the gods of death fall prey to. Even the gods of death can die for love.

And Justice is served in the end though Light thinks he is the true justice.

Sometimes the rules in the Death Note sounds like they were written for the plot.

Ryuk is the ultimate evil.

Today flew only once and Boss took my a/c and he remembers the time I saw him at Arab Street. He asked me whether i got go eat the spicy steamboat lol

Night flying got CX. Lucky the late shift. Tmw working late and going to be 149 stand in guard.

BTW watched Golden Flower with JT and it was still raining when the show finished and I walked home in the rain.

As usual with Zhang Yimou, the art is good, the visuals are grand and stunning. He like to keep to a few colours. In this case, Red and Gold.

Acting is very good. Gong Li is damn good as the queen and mother. Chou Yun Fatt is the freaking ruthless evil king. Jay Chou is the obedient son. And the Crown Prince is good at being politically correct and so is the "act cute" but scheming little brother who thinks he is all grown up.

The parts with all the massive number of people are very impressive. The flowers, the "parades" and the clothes. Lots of symbols like the part of the officials reporting time and the queen have to take her "meds".

And all the illusion of "proper-ness" and rules and laws by the king and that they are all putting up appearances. Family feuds in a royal family can get deadly.

Lots of blood and waste of life of all the faceless people.

The fights were very impressive too. The golden armour and stuff. The last fight was really crazy with all the arrows. And the assassins are really crazy with their knife and rope combo. LOL sliding down from mountains? Even the physician can fight.

Some people complain about the cliche plot of betrayal of double and triple crossing but I thought it was ok. He made it good and actually made me feel something for the character. The part of the couple realising they are actually half brother and sister and the girl running madly off like from the old chinese movie, Thunderstorm, Lei Yu.

The king did not shed a tear in the end.

AS i told JT, U just hope one of them will just freaking give in and stop this whole big tragedy from happening. The ending was a little open.

Watched it with ZX. No ads before the movie?

BTW it was rather short. Less than two hours. The story went a little too fast. some parts were unexplained. The characters were not fully developed and the battles were not "LOTR" class. But the baby dragon was damn cute. The final fight was not bad. The magic was cool.

Overall its average.

BTW ate pasta with ZX at creation. Seafood Aglio. The apple crumble was nice. Think we saw a Gallardo.

And went to eat porridge buffet with ZX, his sis and his sis BF. Some quality hotel. haha was not bad. worth it and damn full. I love chocolate ice cream with lots of chocolate sauce.

Watched my anime as usual in the morning. Then met up with Chris for lunch. Had duck rice.

The bought the Coke bottle that can never be opened. LOL I tell Chris i can give him back 50 cent if he can open but after a damn long time. He still cant.

He had to leave for work about 4pm+ And then about 5pm, Sunny said he was at Bugis. Turns out that he was with Harry, Meng Hui and Chao Tian. Harry in AWF. They had to go home and I went to meet up with Eric and then we went Kino to look for Sunny. Meng Hui looking for some books.

Went to Shaw to buy tickets first and then Zong Xuan came.

Pirates started quite crazy. John in this coffin from this crazy island with a map of a key sorta. And we see Will Turner father and John's curse. 13 years captain of Black Pearl in exchange for 100 years on Flying Dutchmen. LOL actually he only 2 years captain. Davy Jones and his face and his crew and they all look so disgusting. But the special effects were REALLY good.

Has lots of funny moments as usual.

The island and the people who make Jack the Chief but wanna eat him. Then the Flying Dutchman and trying to find the 100 souls. Elizabeth escaping to a ship. Will and his father reunion. Crazy fight on the wheel. The sea creature, the witch and the heart in the chest. Flying Dutchman can dive. We know how the compass works. The Commodore guy is back.

The ending was surprising. Jack did not abandon his friends and run away at last. The sea creature is scary with all the teeth. But the return of Barbossa is very surprising. The plot has some major loopholes like why the monkey is still undead. Davy Jones can teleport suddenly, Flying Dutchman cant be faster than the Black Pearl? And the sea creature only follow John's hat?

But then its a entertaining flick and its really fun to watch and its crazy and kinda like a fun ride. The actual word should be action adventure. Crazy non-stop about 150 mins of action.

The good and good looking actors really makes it more fun and its fun to bring back some of the characters from the first one. Jerry Bruckheimer makes some fun stuff. Just saw on IMDb that hes gonna make Prince of Persia movie.

Narnia should be end of this year btw.

Added : About 12 midnight i opened the damn bottle using freeze and then boiling hot water on the cap. Damn i thought i was gonna make a fortune of Ebay. lol

Saw a hell lot of RX-8 today from day to night.

The armament guys shifting back to 1-2 and we saw some of their younger photos. lol 3 sgt?

And I think i saw that newbie pilot i strap in first time when i was having dinner. I wonder why he was here.

Was gonna meet the 144 guys up for supper. But Raj cant make it last min and then Sunny wanted to study for his animal test. So in the end only me and zong xuan and eric.

They had to wait for me shower and change. lol

But I saw Kevin from AFS and met up with them a while at some thai disco. Ken and Chuan Zhi and two more guys i forgot...

BTW Amos wanted to come join us but he was at Woodlands...

So Zong Xuan had dinner first. It was 11pm already. Some indian store near my house and the uncle had communication problems. lol

Then Zong xuan had some free tickets so we went cineleisure at orchard and wanted to watch recycle but movie sold out and queue too long and time was up so we took the 3.30am show.

Went to play air hockey. 3 kingdoms game and i died fast. Then the fast food at cine close quite late but we wne to walk up and down orchard until far east. The Apple Shop at Cine is nice. LOL i tried to Bluetooth the mac inside with my Nokia 6680.

Had clam chowder at Long Johns since it supposed to be 24 hour on weekend but they stick a piece of paper saying close 4am. LOL reading backwards is hard.

Had about 1 hour plus to kill and had ginger beer.

The show was interesting. Not really a horror show. But lots of sound effects to scare you. I think the gals keep getting scared and shake the chairs.

But the show was trying to teach some moral values and it got less scary. And the ending was weird. Little girl was daughter she "threw away"

Got home and i am blogging this now. Zong Xuan killed a small cockroach in his car. I hate cockroaches... and washing toilet at 1-2

BTW watched Superman with Jing Tian today. Thanks to the rainy weather today.

The movie was good. The father, son thing. Lots of witty moments and symbols of Superman coming back. How Lois felt of him leaving and how he fells now coming back.

Special effects are cool and big. I like the music.

Need to sleep now and work later... hahaha

Quite surprised about the son.

The hooker girl with Lex was quite a interesting character.

Lots of nice scenes that look like they came from the old movies.

The crystals and how they grow.

And the cool shuttle part. Pop of the sonic boom? Manual override failed?

X-ray and laser eyes. Powered by the sun?

The starting sequence with the planets was nice. Kent returning to his mom on the crystal ship and we see his younger years. LOL the dog trying to chase the ball he threw.

Oh and the giant Kit Kat at Plaza Singapura where we watched the movie. I can smell the chocolate

Lucky it rained quite heavy so i could get off work and watch with JT.

Haha my queue at the BBQ chicken store faster than his western food. And there was some RJC ppl...

Pixar Cars

Wanted to blog about this last night when i got home but i fell asleep. Then had to catch anime. Then lunch. Forgot that wallet was empty. And then 3 guys called me for computer problems.

Had to go work at 10am on a saturday... Cleaned up the moss in the PDS. The toilet still stinks.

Called everyone to come out. LOL everyone dun wanna confirm. Keep asking who is coming.

Reached home about 5pm. Quickly changed and bathe. Went to Bugis to meet up with Air Force friends.

So met up Eric first at MRT station. Then Sunny came. Kenny near wallet shop. Chris at Swensons.

Reached Shaw and Boon Hong called and i realised i forgot him. Amos and Raj "put aeroplane" me. Zong Xuan drove to shaw.

The movie was at 7pm and the usual pixar pre-movie short film was one man band. Quite funny.

First. Cars was a GREAT movie. I did not expect it to be that good since Pixar was screwing Disney when it was in production.

Its a wonderful story of a fast car finding the value of friends by going slow.

Lightning Mcqueen is played by Owen Wilson. A rookie race car trying to win the piston cup but he does not listen to his crew chief and want no new tires and in the end have to race in a tie breaker with the King and Chick Hicks.

All the characters in the small town. The lawyer Porsche, town judge/doctor, fire truck, old granny car, the war veteran off roadster jeep, hippie van, the sheriff, tattoo guy, diner lady and the local store and his helper. All of them had a past and times have left them behind. Haha the tire shop only like Ferrari. haha and the tow truck who is the best backwards driver.

The tower who came the race car best friend. lol and the huge road making machine.

LOL all the cars have characters like real people. Kenny said the tower is kinda like Master Ler. All the cars are so cute and so close to characters in our life. Lol and the voice acting was good.

The Zhng cars, The family cars, truckers, tractor cows, crop harvester, even the heli and planes.

The scenes were beautiful and big and they really got the atmosphere of the race right. The soundtrack was also great.

Hudson Hornet and how he put on his old tyres and his " turn left to go right" Damn cool

How he went for a slow ride with the Sally and lol he dun need to have headlights. 3.5 years to 60 miles. lol

The writers really had a good idea about cars and what car fans like. they caught the details on the cars down to the suspension, rims, tyres, bumpers and the headlights. Even the sponsor stickers are real life things that are adapted to cars. LOL nitroade energy drink. The show is really clever and the makers paid attention to very detail. Every thing to do with cars. Even the highways, rivers and twisting landscapes. Radiator Springs has a radiator cap. All the paint work on the cars and even stickers on Mcqueen and Mack the truck.

LOL and the jeep got master sarge rank. and mater (the tow truck) took so long to realise Lightning is still beside him. And he only wants to say good bye and wants a ride in a heli.

And the ending credits were really good. All the previous pixar cartoon, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, Bug's Life were 'Cars-ized' Damn funny and the part of them using the same voice actor. lol cheap?

Hmm renderman ran on Intel this time... Lucas use Renderman too.

BTW stay and watch thru the whole credits for some extra part.

Oh and i saw two lotus elise at liang seah. One before movie and one after. I was just thinking recently how come nvr see lotus on Singapore roads.

And i saw Kim Yong and Jolin together at Bugis after the movie while Boon hong was at ATM drawing money. They said they happened to met Ronald before I saw them.

Went to play pool after the movie. Amos joined us. I was pretty sucky. Chris is good. They had some nice toast and hot dog with mustard.

Then while playing pool, saw some ri guys. Hardly recognise. LOL kenny thought they look beng.

Went home close to midnight. Walked back as usual.

Two movies in one day : Da Vinci Code and X Men 3

Was early off today becoz we passed and washed the aircraft.

Sgt William and Jason wanted me to dance and refused t0 let me go.... Staff Lim helped me get away.

Decided not to go back to RI... No more smelly tofu at pasar malan... Damn it.... Had some almond milk tea.

Then went to Shaw to watch Da Vinci. Looked around at the plastic model shop.

Da Vinci has lots of twist and turns and sometimes the plot progress so fast it makes your head spin. Especially if u are not familiar with Christianity, you would have a harder time.

The Knight Templars and stuff. Pagans and Christians. Some parts are true. Like the bible is actually written by man and chosen by the early church leaders. But most is just stuff that Dan Brown added. Like how the last supper was interpreted... But its true that ppl are killed in the name of God everyday. That religion has become a jail for the human mind...

Just it does have lots of thinking and issues in it. But who knows maybe... its true that the church is trying to cover some stuff up and that's why their reaction is so strong?

The ending is interesting about Mary Magdalene's sarcophagus.

Then was the amazing part of the day. I was trying to get Jing tian but who was not feeling well and i was giving up and going home and saw Yong Kai from sec sch.

He was gonna watch X men at Bugis alone... So i decided to join him in the end... Kinda bad to JT... Start of Crazy movie marathon...

Went to Shaw Food Court and wanted to grab a bite and met Mohan and this other RV guy from RI.. Hardly recognised him but he gave me that look...

So its 4 RI guys in 2 days all by coincidence...

BTW X Men 3 was ok. I had very high expectations of it. Maybe becoz of the cartoon. some characters died fast and as usual things were a bit silly... Dark Phoenix could have been more cool.

But it was ok but kinda short...

In the end its the struggle between Good and Evil inside you. No one is right or wrong. Its your choice you have to make.

The ending was freaky...

Yong Kai left to meet some friends. Chemical Engineering in NUS. LOL gonna wait for his $5000 paycheck.

Well i might to going to sqn tmw... so need to go sleep now. Its a long movie marathon day.

Mission Impossible III

Bowser came today and the coupling was quite ok. Just took longer to lock the couple up.

Cocking the gun was tough as usual... got a small cut on my right small finger knuckle....

BTW watched MI 3 all by myself after work. Wen to Bugis and found a 7.15pm show. The duck rice across bugis is not bad.

the show was pretty good and funny and felt "real". Ethan Hunt trying to build a family thouh his work is bloody dangerous... Conspiracy as usual...

Felt like a episode of Alias since its the same director... same issues. Overall it was not bad. Cool action.

the 149 guys and jia xiang were at night flying...

Watched Fearless with JT and Chris just now. Should be Jet Li's last action movie.

Its not bad but quite some lapses in the story. Plot in thin but its the action that counts.

Dunno how come he from young cannot learn martial arts. Then suddenly he is damn good.

Jet Li looks old. LOL he looks evil sometimes.

Not much funny moments. Serious show

Bloody fights. Ppl die in fights.. Broken bones.

Obvious computer effects. The pond sword crossing looks like Hero.

The fights are good. The show started with 3 fights.

And the village part was cute. The blind girl and the villager stopping for the breeze.
And the kids playing on the field. Ox. Girl taught him lots of things

He can kill with one big punch... I expected the family to get killed. Revenge is sweet.
Thought he might have killed the widow and the daughter. Tragic. The last gift from his daughter.
Lost his old friend. Bunch of drinking disciples. Daughter did not see him.
Went out to fight at the guy's birthday but his disciple was the one who was in the wrong at first.
He gets pissed off easily over that guy.

But he finally learns his lesson.
Why his father did not deal the fatal blow.
And his mom said about not fear but respect.
Wushu is not to kill and the worst enemy is yourself.

The jap guy is quite righteous. Seldom jap depict in chn films as nice. Drinking tea.
Making friends. not enemies.

His old friend was so pissed off with him at first but still help him. Too rich.

True story? and the guy was poisoned and died. Haiz. Sad.
