Fri : Went there about 2/3pm and not a lot of people. Its was the second day of the show and was a weekday. Sony had a huge area outside of the main halls. Starhub also was outside the halls.

Sony had PS3, Xplod stuff in a Lancer EX... How did they put the car there in Suntec?. OLED TV and a small sound proof area to show the home theatre systems.

Looks like they are learning their lesson and putting their huge attention grabbing booth outside the cramped halls.

Saw the power line solution provider for that geek cafe in Shenton way. Can put power socket any place along this line. They were beside Skylet.

Cant find my FW 800 external hard disk and few selling internal disk and no 320GB platter harddisk too

And found Mclogic but they dun have PC 166 but can tell me to pay 199....

And then saw the Fine Pix S100 and asked about the price.

Safari 3 Beta for Windows and Final Features for Mac OS X Leopard

I was really surprised by Safari on Windows. The new features are mainly in the Finder and Desktop. Finder is more iTunes-like.

Overall the new features were not that impressive. Maybe becoz most of the features have been mentioned already before in the previous update.

I guess they spent quite a lot of time on iPhone and under the hood changes and to do a good port.

Cyberfair 2007 Singapore

On leave this week. Settling Cyberfair matters. Meeting the schools and helping them as much as I can. Helping the teachers settle the registration issues. Was quite astonished when I saw some schools not registered yet. Their work would be all for nothing and a big waste if its just because of a small mistake.

Glad to say most of them made it.

Some schools still can improve a lot and considering that for some of them its the first time they are taking part in a international web competition and for some its their first time making a full site, it a good effort.

RVHS put in a lot of work towards the end. So did Boon Lay Sec. RI was too content focused.... New Town is too new to websites and they did not started with a website focus... Hai Sing Cathloic needs more experience. Pioneer Sec is a one man team. And some schools did not make it.

Apple Developers - Leopard Tech Talk

Friday went for the Apple Leopard Tech Talk at Raffles City. Was pretty interesting. Learnt quite a lot about all the Kits and Core stuff. Most interesting to me of course was Safari and Dashcode.

They said most of the stuff is under NDA... So...

But anyway most of it is public and can be access on ADC. I am more interested in Xray though.

See some of the usual Mac developer people around.

Food was nice. Hotel standard sia. Lots of choice. Was quite full though I hoped I could eat more. Haha and met some interesting people during lunch. Some DSTA guy, a RJC IT guy and a NUS IT guy at the same table.

Really need some money to get a Mac soon. But 10.5 is still kinda mysterious... And the iPhone and how widgets will work will it...

After the talk walked around Raffles City. The basement now has lots of stuff. Tried the beef batter fish and chips. Not bad with salt and vinegar.

The iPhone is here. its actually runs OS X. I wonder what processor it is using.
802.11g and EDGE included. 3G would be prefect. 2mpx cam and 3.5 inch screen.

3mpx would be nice.

Otherwise it looks great and sounds like a winner!

Got a philips 19inch lcd yesterda and it got a stupid blue pixel. and it kept going into this sleep mode shit thing at the windows login and refuses to go away unless i power off and then on the monitor....

Met up with ZX last night. We went Bedok 85 to eat. The bbq chicken wing and fried oyster was nice. then he came my house to play NFS and we took a few tries to unlock the lambo Murcielago.... And we unexpectedly unlock the police cruiser and now we know why they so fast....

BTW went back to Fuwell to try to change the monitor and had to go thru a lot of shit.... Damn Dulan. No dead pixel now bu the sleep mode shit is still there... Damn irritating...

MSN Spaces had a URL change to XXX.spaces.msn.com and photo albums can now be reordered.

I wonder what Live Spaces will bring.

Nokia 6708 uses UIQ but 65k colours only. But the handwriting recognition rocks. When will i ever win a Nokia lucky draw... I want a N91!!!!

And Google Earth for Linux is released. But its pretty unstable. Crashed everytime i run it. At leastit is sending the crash log back to Google to fix the problem.

Installed SUSE 10.1 last night. Chris came over in the afternoon for lunch. Went to Sim Lim by myself to buy blank CDs for SUSE.

Ate that indian food at the SLS food court. not bad. garlic bread?

BTW watched xian jian qi xia zhuang finale and its sad.

And the install had some glitches like the partitioning failed... some formating problem. I thought i lost my windows but solved it eventually.

BTW SUSE is ok but slow and things are different and the update thing is irritating.

And Google Desktop is still not as good as MSN Desktop Search..

Apple is amazing quiet for its 30th anniversary. Just Boot Camp to run XP on Macs. But that a very quiet but powerful thing to announce. Some ppl thought that its a April's Fools joke... LOL the company was formed on 1 April...

And i just discovered that Local feels faster and the image quality is better. Google gives more bandwidth to Local? Think i saw the Range and Grenade range on Tekong... Bot Earth receives a lot more geographic info... Maybe Server load is much bigger for Earth?
